I’ve been playing a bit with the Spore creature creator…and it is SO much fun. Now that the extremely invasive DRM plans have evidently been shelved, I feel much better about planning to buy the game. The creature creator, as sandbox mode for the future game, is very immersive and easy: you start with a blob for a body shape, in which you can see a spine. Push it, pull it, until you’re happy with the basic shape, then start adding body parts. Paint it with a skin, and then animate it – whatever you have designed works perfectly with all of the emotes. It’s stunning.
