There was SO much snow this morning. No one else wanted to turn their horses out, so I left Kip inside and then almost got stuck trying to get out of the farm gates (small incline, stone gateposts, right-angle turn). Every time I tapped on the gas, the back end tried to shimmy in a circle. I finally made it, unfortunately, and so I had to go to work. :(
Today was one of those killer days, no time for lunch, stress all day long, my stomach tying itself into knots. Is the money worth it? Would another job, at the same level, be any less stressful? Perhaps not. I just don’t know how we’d go back to living on a normal salary again…it would be tough. And it’s not as though we’re taking European vacations or anything – where the hell does it all go?
Speaking of stress, someone from work is out on her fourth week or so of time off for stress-related illness. She just called in today to say that her doctor said she’d be out another six weeks. What the hell? I mean, unless you’ve had a total breakdown, I can’t imagine how they justify it. I’m stressed to the point of breaking, but really…aren’t we all?
heh. That sounds JUST like me. I made 25% more this past year and … um… okay so I’ve two really nice saddles that I didn’t have before, but still! Where did it all go?
Exactly. I mean, obviously horses are expensive. But I’ve been buying kit off eBay, not retail, and I have a single lesson a week, haven’t done any shows or clinics – where did it go?
Shoe’ing!!
: (
Well, yeah, shoeing and vet and feed, but it’s not a huge monthly outlay. ???
