Reassurance

Last night the vet came out to give Kipper his booster shot, and I asked him about the clicking in Kip’s hind fetlocks (very audible at times, along with a two-or-three-stage catch movement, very visible). He said not to worry about it, as he is very young, growing fast, and everything is loose/elastic at this point. Evidently it is common to notice something like this in fetlocks, then have it move to the hocks, stifles, etc. I’ve never noticed anything like this with my other young horses, but he is a very big horse, and perhaps that has something to do with it. The vet says as long as he’s not lame, I shouldn’t worry about it. Thank goodness…that is a BIG relief.
