Please tell me it’s Friday…

Productive but frustrating day today, marred by a pissing contest over a tricky area of the site. It’s difficult to write about things that happen at work without being indiscreet, which is why I tend not to. Suffice it to say that it was a discussion over user accounts and permissions – part of what the site does is form a bridge between teens, parents and schools with a maze of different user levels and permissions. This affects the social networking section, as well as the ecommerce area. Said discussion escalated into an argument over how the area should work, and then into a territorial thing. Unpleasant in the extreme.

After work I went riding, and really enojoyed riding in the dusk, listening to birds and foxes calling in the fields. Lizzie was playing around a bit, and I was letting her, not being in the mood for serious work, when she gave me one of those “oh, shit, I’m going to die” moments. She’s used to working in an indoor arena, and as we were cantering down the long side of the arena, she suddenly looked at the fence coming up, tucked her ass under her, and really started to motor. I got her turned, but I know she was fixed on the fence. lol…I wouldn’t have had a hope of staying with her.

Well, that was my excitement for the night. And now, for those who aren’t gaming addicts: The Five Stages of Warcraft. :)
