Insomnia

I made it through the day surprisingly well, considering that I woke at 3:00, lay awake until almost 4:30, and then just got up and read by the fire. Work is quiet-ish, just some SEO work that has been languishing on the back burner and some other housekeeping tasks. I put in a requisition for a book on table-free development with CSS from Amazon, and was told that no expenditures could be authorised. Yikes! So I ordered it for myself. (Like, I’m going to read it and not use any useful techniques for work unless they pay me back my £20…lol. Hey, you have to laugh.)*

We watched Casanova last night and very much enjoyed it – lighthearted costume romp with lots of wink-wink, nudge-nudge sex. Lots of fun. Interestingly, Peter O’Toole was much sexier than the decades-younger version of the character – he’s such a gorgeous old man. And that voice…doesn’t quite have the quivery/shivery effect that Alan Rickman’s voice does, but it’s still a very enticing voice. It is written by Russell T. Davies, who scripts the new Doctor Who…which is a good thing. :)

Well, back to work…ish.

*Yes, Phil, I bought a book. But I also put two saddles on eBay, so it will balance out. :P

  1. I suppose it is just past year end for most companies. I guess they’ll get their new budgets sorted out soon. Could explain why they would not buy a book.

No – it’s more the fact that the company is teetering on the edge of a very long drop into a very deep cravasse…
