Quick catch-up on things, which shouldn’t take too long because I have no exciting news or deep thoughts. :(
Kip was very good in our lesson last night, as is always the case when you think you’ve finally made up your mind to sell a horse. Some rather complicated things for him to think about: walk, leg-yield out several steps, turn on the forehand in walk to reverse (towards the wall), straight into trot, twenty-metre circle, then strikeoff into canter. Canter is still very paddling and scary, as though he’s going to fall. Now that I know where there are some short dirt tracks around the neighborhood, I need to take him out and gallop him everywhere I can, to get him revved-up a bit.
Aja, the female giant rat, has been worrying us; she was originally the more active one of the pair, and she’s very lethargic now, and her coat is looking patchy. We’re going to get some rodent vitamins and also some linatone for her this weekend, and see if that works – if not, she needs to go to the vets. Her diet should be fine, as far as I know (try finding proper diet information about rare giant African rats – there’s only personal sites that tell you what they feed their rats – who knows?). They get a huge variety of bananas, tangerines, avocado, broccoli, mango, spinach, etc., plus seed and rat food.
Work has been fairly quiet this week. Still struggling with the CSS for the newly-added right-hand persistent mini-shopping basket and cross-sells, which just doesn’t want to play right. I’ve been writing product copy (grrrrr!!!) and I finally got a motorised rotary display base so that I can put a product on it, video one revolution, and bring that into Flash for 360 degree rotation movies. That will be fun.
Phil and I were so burned out (already! only Tuesday!) that we got chicken from the chippy last night and vegged in front of Alien vs. Predator, which wasn’t as horrible as I would have thought.
Wwll, off to the damn job. :(
Alien vs. Predator
Didn’t it feel a bit odd to you that everyone died so quickly? It felt to me like the movie was on fast-forward, or like they just didn’t have enough of a budget to make it longer. Was a little disconcerting. Other than that, it was okay, but then I didn’t have the highest of expectations. I find that’s best when it comes to movies these days ;).
