Friends Only Bit

My boss called me into his office today before I left and said that he’d been headhunted and was probably going to leave the company. (No shit – he sent me the URL of the site and asked me to summarize in one page how I would turn it into the strong sales channel that it should be – it was a pretty obvious guess.) Then he said that he would like to go there with a “select team” of staff, and I was the first one he’d wanted to talk to. Yes, it’s a bit underhanded…but on the other hand, the company has shit on us since we were all hired, and things are pretty grim. Chances of me landing a job with a large ecommerce company locally are slim…so this is a gift. I knew that I was going to have to commute to Manchester or Birmingham in all likelihood, so this is VERY tempting.

I told him I’d be interested. What can I say? I’m just a slut. Show me the money! :)

  1. *grin*

Loyalty is a two way street – if they’d been loyal to you, you wouldn’t feel like moving.

  2. Exactly! Ok, maybe I’m justifying it for myself, but I don’t really care. It would be nice to be appreciated for once. A review and a raise would have been nice, as well. :)

    You’re cute, funny, intelligent …

    Oh.

    By them.

    :-)

  4. I think yes, definitely. You shouldn’t turn your back on opportunities, of course – they don’t happen all that often!

  5. dilemas dilemas….I suppose if you like the look of the new company and you think it would be better than where you are now go for it, no point worrying about it being underhanded, if they wanted to get rid of you they would not think twice about it, business is business. Good luck in making the right decision for you.
