Eve of 2006

After a good dinner, Phil is playing Warcraft for a bit and I am doing some work on the site, before we toast the new year. It’s a quiet NYE here, as there’s not much to do except go to a pub – not exactly a special way to spend the evening. There are some fireworks, but overall it’s fairly quiet, perhaps because of the rain.

2006 is going to be a good year. I spent all of 2005 at a job that I hated, stressed and miserable, fighting with veterinary problems with the horses and wishing I was someone else, somewhere else. This year I want to be happy with who I am.

Every damn year I’ve made a resolution to travel, and I am DAMN well going to do it this year.

We’ve been watching Firefly on DVD, and I’ve really enjoyed it. Interesting concept for a show – too bad they cancelled it.

So far (knock on wood) Lizzie is going well, and is starting to get stronger. Her breathing is still a bit short, and she’s a bit stiff behind, but we’ll take it slowly and see how much we can do.

I really do think that this is going to be a good year…fingers crossed!

Thanks for your very optimistic post :). I am finding it very hard to be optimistic lately, hehe, and to see your post; this makes me smile and have hope, so thank you and I am crossing my fingers too that things proceed as well as you hope in the new year ;)

p.s. did you get a kiss from Phil at midnight??????!!! hehe, I actually forgot that tradition. Amanda reminded me.

if you forgot: I command you to slap phil awake right now and give him a big smooch and a happy new year, hehehe :)

  2. According to Phil, that’s not a tradition here. :( But I make him kiss me anyway…after all this time, he’s been trained. lol…
