It is an absolutely gorgeous day today; the sun is shining, it’s warm, and everywhere, along every lane, are masses of daffodils. There are tons of lambs in the fields, and I want to hold one SO badly! I asked Phil if he thought that the farmer would freak if I went into one of his fields to hold a lamb. lol…I probably would have a hard time actually catching one! They’re adorable, though. I’ll ahve to post some pictures.
We looked at a house that I fell in love with, here in Leek. It’s a large, brick one in a decent neighbourhood, very large, with a big kitchen and bedrooms. The livingroom, or lounge, leaves something to be desired, as with all the places that we’ve seen so far…long, but very thing, making arranging furniture difficult. The owner was a tough old Yorkshireman, and he magnanimously said that they would leave the carpets with the house. I looked at him like he was crazy, but Phil said that he’s looked at houses where the owner had stripped all carpets, curtain poles, and lightbulbs. Such pettiness staggers the mind.
There’s another that we’re looking at tonight, but it’s out of our price range. I hadn’t wanted to do that, as it makes it that much harder to settle for anything that we can afford. Ah, well…we’ll have to see what happens.
