Well, I did it – I raided again tonight, the first time in ages. I logged in to find that something was desperately wrong with my UI (possibly as a result of a recently-installed addon?), and all my macros were gone (and I use a lot of pull/misdirection/etc macros). So I raided with godawful humongous raid windows all over the place and tons of messages about the amount of errors that my addons were causing.
We were trying to get the Undying achievement, and it went perfectly until the last boss, when three people disconnected, and someone died as a result of the healers disconnecting. I died at the end too, but as long as you’re not the first one to die, it’s not disastrous. God, the pressure of an undying run – where when someone does finally die, you breathe this little sigh of relief and say “thank god it wasn’t me!”. :) It’s like the joke about running with the bulls in Pamplona – you don’t have to be the fastest, you just have to stay in front of the slowest guy.
I finally got my Journey’s End staff, which was nice.
It’s time to delete my WTF/cache etc. this weekend and try to fix the problems. (Since I’ve already lost all my macros and keybindings and so on.) And will I keep raiding? We shall see…
