A Norwegian witch has won a £5,000 business grant from her government to make and sell magic potions.

I’m not sure what I think about this…I suppose it’s very cool that someone like this could get a business loan through the regular channels. I think it’s hilarious that she’s going to run an Avon-style business. (“…Skarning, a 33-year-old practicing witch said she plans to make a living mixing potions for clients, selling wares door to door and making house calls…Her specialty products include night creams for vivid dreams, a day cream to combat indecisiveness and a foot cream to change a user’s bad habits.”)

Imagine the uproar if this had happened in the States…it’s difficult enough for G/L/B groups to get funded, and god forbid a pagan one like this would. Norway is obviously much more progressive than the States…and less rabid about religion. Yaay, Norway – you rock!

Most of Northern Europe is very progressive – every open about most aspects of life, drugs, sex, mental health, sex…oh, and sex.
